A funeral director’s role is to oversee the arrangement of the funeral from first contact with us to the day of the funeral and beyond. This includes listening to you, understanding your needs and answering any questions you may have.
Bringing the individual concerned into our care, looking after them, creating the ideal funeral for the individual, handling all the documentation required, securing bookings at the crematorium, cemetery or natural burial ground.
Organising the music for the ceremony, flowers, orders of service and any other requests you may have for a funeral that you want.
The values an individual expects in life are the same values an individual can expect in death.
We care .This means we will care for the individual who has died as if their family and friends were in the room with us. Here at Doves you can be in the room with us, washing and dressing your family member. This can be due to religious cultural or traditional beliefs’, if this is something that is important to you we will assist you to make it happen. You will have a trained member of staff with you at all times or you can trust us to carry this out in the caring professional manner you expect. They will be referred to by their preferred name as they were in life. Their dignity will at all times be maintained, everyone counts. This is something that is as important to us as it is to you.
Embalming is not undertaken as standard but only after discussion and with the family’s permission.
